Which groups settled in the colonies?  Why did the settlers come to America?  How could the Carolina Colony be described?

  1. The British settled in the colonies. They came for a better life ahead of them, religion, and because they were forced to. The Carolina colony can be described as a place were settlers tried to settle but were not much successful because of taxes and war. But the people who lived away from cities like yeoman's small scale farmers could make a living off of hunting and their crops.

  2. Several groups settled in the colonies, including Dutch, Sweedish, and the English, and they came for very different reasons. Some came to grow plantations and make money off of the crops. Others came for religious freedom, in which they would be prosecuted in Europe. Yet, others still came in order to pay off debts as indentured servants, or, were forced to come here and sold into slavery.
The Carolina Colony was described as a vast area covered with mountains and trees in the west, and low-lying flat land in the east, perfect for agricultural needs.
