Why were NC's view on secession?

1 comment:

  1. North Carolina felt that they didn't need to seccede because of preserving slavery, because they moslty were small farmers, not plantations. But when President Lincoln asked for all Union states to send their militias to the capital, North Carolina felt as if they were traped. This is because North Carolina would be trapped, with all states around it being Confederate.
