  2. New inventions, ambitions, and realization of the importance of education all set the steps for exploring the new world. Inventions like better maps and caravels made travel easier and more consistent. When we decided to educate ourselves we no longer were afraid of the sea and wanted to learn more about the world.

  3. The Renaissance was a time of rebirth in Europe. With this rebirth came several advantages in technology, some of which impacted exploration of the New World.
The Portuguese, who mastered sea travel with their small and fast ships called, caravels, and could travel from Portugal to the New World and back in a relatively short time.
Better ways to draw maps were discovered, and people were no longer afraid of 'going over' the edge of the Earth when they set out to sea.
All of these advancements in technology and knowledge led to the discovery of the New World.
